… well the first night at the shelter was utterly awful … the entire place smells like dirty feet, even the cafeteria! I was only there for 5 minutes before the first lockdown happened.

Everyone was forced into the dorms, and we sat on our bunks for an hour while the police and EMS intervened in a fight between two men … as the staff cleaned up the blood … after lights out even with noise-canceling headphones, I can still hear the talking, coughing, and snores of other people … but I managed to get some sleep … only to be awoken again at 4 a.m. … at least this time it didn’t involve the police … I had to wait until 5 a.m. before I was allowed to leave … being locked in a building for 11 hours a day is not going to work well for me for very long …
